McAfee® Web Essentials

Web Essentials bundles McAfee's two best Internet services - VirusScan and Personal Firewall Plus. Any computer can be attacked by viruses, hackers, worms and trojans, so we recommend that all our customers - broadband and dial-up - use anti-virus and firewall software.

Firewalls prevent unauthorised and malicious access to your computer from the Internet, while anti-virus programmes protect your files from viruses, worms and trojans. We've teamed up with McAfee to offer Web Essentials, which combines both firewall and anti-virus protection, for only £39.99 per year (normally £74.99). McAfee Web Essentials can:

* provide a secure, always-on barrier between your computer's hard drive and the Internet
* guard your sensitive files, personal data and hard drive from hacker
* stop your computer from accessing the Internet without your knowledge
* prevent spyware or other malicious software from passing your information to hackers
* keep your computer safe from viruses, worms and trojans
* automatically update its scans to check for new viruses
* protect all your important personal data
* detect and remove viruses, spyware and other unwanted intrusions

Orange Terms of Use for McAfee Web Essentials McAfee Web Essentials is designed to protect your PC, files and email address book from known high-risk, productivity-killing viruses, worms, Trojans and hackers (the "Service"). 1. The Service is provided to you subject to you completing the registration process and accepting McAfee's End User Licence Agreement, McAfee.com Privacy Policy and the following Terms of Use for the Service. 2. The Service is billed to you by McAfee. Subject to clause 3 below, Orange reserves the right to change the billing relationship so that Orange bills you for the Service. 3. In the event that Orange takes over billing for the Service, you shall be provided with at least 30 days written notice and will be expected to reconfirm your billing data as well as accept revised terms of use. 4. Orange reserves the right to withdraw, suspend and terminate the Service at any time without cause on giving 14 days notice by email or such other durable medium as Orange considers appropriate. 5. You hereby acknowledge that the Service provided to you is operated by McAfee.com. Orange gives no representation or warranty that the Service will be error free or free from interruption or failure or that it is compatible with any particular hardware or software. 6. Orange to the maximum extent permitted by law, disclaim all warranties, terms and conditions, expressed or implied as to fitness for purpose or to merchantable quality of the Service. 7. Use of Data - The personal data that you provide during registration for the Service may be used by Orange subject to Orange Privacy and Cookie Policy (www.orange.co.uk/privacy). By accepting the these terms of use you hereby consent to Orange using your personal data to contact you by post phone and electronic mail (that is email, picture video and SMS) about; functionality changes to the Service; for billing and administrative purposes in connection with the Service; changes to terms of use; and advise you regarding the use of the Service or any service which may substitute, enhance or replace it. 8. Orange reserves the right to vary the terms of this agreement or the nature of the Service at any time and Orange will inform you of such changes through email, newsletter or such other medium as Orange considers appropriate.
